HGV Driver Network Supports the Armed Forces Covenant
H GV Driver Network is proud to support the Armed Forces Covenant — a national pledge to treat those who serve, or have served, in the armed forces with fairness and respect. Through this commitment, we actively help ex-service personnel transition into civilian life by supporting them in finding meaningful work as professional drivers.
What the Armed Forces Covenant is
The Armed Forces Covenant is a nationwide promise that ensures service personnel, veterans, and their families are not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives. It represents a shared commitment from government, businesses, and communities to recognise the sacrifices made by those in the Army, RAF, Navy, and other branches of the armed forces.
Our role
At HGV Driver Network, we provide employment opportunities and support for veterans looking to build new careers. By treating ex-service personnel fairly in the recruitment process, we help ensure their skills, discipline, and dedication are recognised and valued in the transport sector. We also back charitable initiatives linked to the Covenant, extending our support beyond employment.
Why this matters
Many of the qualities gained in the armed forces — such as teamwork, responsibility, and resilience — are exactly what make for outstanding professional drivers. By offering career opportunities and support, we’re not only helping veterans adapt to civilian life, but also strengthening the logistics industry with skilled, motivated people.
“Supporting the Armed Forces Covenant is something very close to my heart. The men and women who serve our country demonstrate discipline, resilience, and commitment every single day — qualities that are just as valuable in civilian life. At HGV Driver Network, we want to ensure that those leaving the services are given every opportunity to continue building rewarding careers. For me, it’s about more than employment — it’s about recognising their contribution and helping them make a successful transition into the next chapter of their lives.”
Joe Lewis, Managing Director of HGV Driver Network
Closing statement
Supporting the Armed Forces Covenant is more than a pledge for us — it’s a reflection of our values. We’re proud to play our part in helping those who have served our country move forward with new opportunities in the world of work.
